Bar of the Month – January – The Brig

Imagine a bar where you don’t have to queue or desperately try to make eye contact with the bartender to get served. Doesn’t exist, right? Wrong! Welcome to London’s smallest bar – The Brig. Nestled behind an inconspicuous door at its flagship venue, Merchant House of Bow Lane, this intimate, unique, private speakeasy boasts a charming ceiling and bar constructed from old whiskey casks and space for just two to four people.

Experience the novelty of being able to play your own ambience-setting tunes and having your own attentive bartender mix you up a mouthwatering array of cocktails. Take advantage of your mixologist’s expert knowledge and flavoursome suggestions. They will tailor your drinks based on your personal taste and preferences; this is your opportunity to get creative and be experimental!

Top tip – this venue needs to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Once your booking has been made, you will receive your four-digit code to enter the bar ready for an evening of experimental beverages and affable company. Head to the main bar at Merchant House and you will be escorted to your ‘Brig’ adventure.

The Brig offers an exclusive experience that you won’t find anywhere else in London. Their concept is all about making the evening your own, which is amplified by having the power to be in control of the music and volume. You are bound to impress your date at this cosy establishment – just ensure your Spotify playlist is on point!
