Winter Carnival - best date venue review, London
Categories Drinks, Where & What

It’s that time of year where everything just starts to get a whole lot more festive.

With scents of mulled wine filling the air of your local bars and seasonal markets starting to pop up just about everywhere, the hustle and bustle of the city can be exciting but also a little tricky to find a quieter corner with a little bit of a difference for that first (or even second) date.

We’ve found a pop up gem, which is surprisingly quiet and has a sense of calm and fun ambience, just a few floors above the city. Introducing The Winter Carnival on the roof of John Lewis, inspired by the festive season and powered by google. Stick with us on this, we can assure you a bar in the heart of Bond Street does have some perks (we promise).

So why do we love it? Well, firstly upon arrival the customer service is epic and very inviting which we believe would be an absolute treat when you’re trying to make a great impression whilst getting to know one another. Secondly, whilst it’s outdoors and on the roof it’s actually shielded from the chaos of the city down below.

Also, if you’re a planner and really want to impress you are able to pre-book one of the three boutique cabins on the roof where you can have a bite to eat, grab a couple of seasonal cocktails or just to offer a true snippet of time to escape with your date.

With heated areas, cabins and plenty of staff, you won’t go unnoticed or dehydrated for a moment. Also, those initial first dates can sometimes be served with a side of nerves and so a great way to eradicate those is to shift the focus away from the two of you and onto a great experience. You’ll find fun and pocket-friendly games such as curling on the roof and options for coffee over cocktails should you so prefer. It really does have a great date night vibe and if you start to hit it off and want to continue in your good company, you can head inside and check out the informal bar menu for a snack or two.

Our bar of the month really is a gem of a fun hide-away for a handful of hours which will certainly serve plenty of options and make for a great date.
