One of our lovely guests wrote a great review after our last event. Hear what he had to say!
Get on your bikes and tally ho!
As a singleton in London I’ve gone through the wholespeed dating, tinder, bar scene phase and apart from a series of dates, nothing else was achieved. Then I came across My Friend Charlie. Now here was a company offering me a chance to meet cool single people while doing cool things! It seemed like a no brainer, so I immediately signed up. My first event was the London Bike Tour.
The day came, and I felt a bit apprehensive but then I met the other single folks and immediately felt at ease. There was a relaxed atmosphere and an equal ratio of guys to girls.
Charlie picked an awesome company to partner up with, Tally Ho! Cycle tours. The guide was truly enthusiastic about London and what he was talking about. His classic British outfit coupled with the classic British bikes we were riding and the route through picturesque parts of London just brought it all together.
The pace of the ride was great with enough breaks to keep the group interested. It’s safe to say we all learnt at least one new thing that we hadn’t known before. For example, do you know what “tapping the Admiral” means? Or why there’s a black spot on the clock at the Horse Guards Parade?
There didn’t seem to be the undercurrent of “you-are-here-to-find-someone-so-get-on-with-it” that most dating events have. This was just a great bike tour where I managed to burn hundreds of calories, see some of London that I hadn’t before and learn a couple of new facts. I was just doing all of it with other single, cool, and dare I say, attractive people. And because it was all while I was doing stuff, I felt I had actually achieved something, not just another hangover.
